Nassau’s Golden Girls

A 35-minute documentary on the faith journeys of four women, ages 85 to 101, at Nassau Presbyterian Church.

One connected our church to a food program in the ‘90s that’s run for twenty years since. Another organized the presbytery’s 250th anniversary, bringing three churches together. Neither could stand up and tell the congregation any of it herself.

During World War II, one of them crossed a racial line to sit with a man who'd just lost his grandson to the war, and stayed until the worst of it had passed.

I conducted four interviews, worked through the raw footage, and cut it into a film. I presented it to our congregation of over a thousand people in an Adult Education class.
