Cooking

I grew up in the kitchen with my mother and grandmothers, and I've taken cooking classes for the past three years — everything from scrambled eggs to French macarons and croissants. Lately I've gotten into cooking for performance too: the right carbs before a game, protein after, and ways to make fueling for a season actually enjoyable instead of a chore.

Sewing

My grandmother taught me to sew when I was a little girl — our first project was outfits for my doll, Violet. I started formal classes at seven, and I've sewn everything since: sweatpants, denim skirts, bikinis, my own mending. In high school I ran a small handmade scrunchie business on the side. There's a real satisfaction in making something with your own two hands.
