Field Hockey
I’ve played field hockey for four years, and this season I’m captain. I run summer workouts and build the practice plans for a team of 30–40 girls, coordinate between the coaches and the team, and have led our fundraising for two years. During games, I’m the team’s designated speaker — the player who communicates with the ref on any issues. I spoke at Grover Middle School to recruit future players.

Lacrosse
I began playing lacrosse in high school as a complete beginner, and have been on the varsity team for the past two seasons. Starting fresh in lacrosse has enhanced my ability to step outside of my comfort zone, take risks, and accept mistakes as they are made. As well as that, being a less experienced player on the team has taught me to ask questions and seek advice from other players, all in pursuit of the success of the team. I have also learned how to cheer on my teammates and make them feel seen and valued for their accomplishments! Although I am no olympian when it comes to lacrosse, this sport has taught me that growth is attainable through hard work and resilience.
